Give the men a Tiger ...

The Year of 2010 is the Year of the Tiger. The Tiger is the third sign in the Chinese Zodiac cycle. This year is double happiness for the businessman. The first day of the Chinese New Year coincidentally fall on February 14, 2010.

With China booming, Parker taking the opportunity to release a Zodiac Series last Christmas to welcome the lunar year.

Today, we received our piece but was disappointment with the artwork.

Maybe after a few more days, we will like it better.

While we may not like the drawing of the tiger on the barrel, the pine tree maki-e is not that bad.

This pen is crafted by the same maki-e artisan as the previous year.

We take a few more shoots of the pen, and at different angle and layout... try to image what was the artisan thinking when he drew the tiger.

I think the same tiger in the picture below look nicer.
