Sailor Endangered Species Limited Edition, Endangered Birds: Japanese Paradise Flycatcher

The Fly Catcher is the second design in Sailor Endangered Species Limited Edition. The first design was Blakiston's Fish Owl.

Japanese fly catcher is a migratory songbird. It breeds in Japan, Korea, and in parts of China and Russia. It winters in South East Asia, especially in Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Sumatra and Borneo.

Their population had declining steeply because of forest loss and degradation in its winter range.

Master artisan Koushu Nishihara skillfully crafted the Japanese Fly Catcher on the Sailor signature pen 1911.
Nishihara-san skillfully uses gold dust and different shape of brown/gold tone to created the wing (above picture), and a long tail will curve up to the pen cap (picture below).
Master artisan Koushu Nishihara painted a pair of babt catcher on the pen.
The Sailor Endangered Species Limited Edition is limited to 88 pieces worldwide.

This is the 2nd design the three. The other two are Sailor Endanaged Species, Blakiston's Fish Owl and Roseatte Spoonbill.
