Caran d'Arche Buddha Limited Edition 2013

After completing the Indian culture only gods theme, Caran d'Ache and artist Edouard Jud collaborate to revised Buddha theme with a new limited edition.

Unlike the Caran d'Arche Buddha Limited Edition 2007, which is limited to 10 pieces worldwide for each edition, the Buddha Limited Edition 2013 fountain pen is limited to 88 pieces worldwide with each pen individual number.

Beside making many more pieces, the material for the pen and semi precious stone use to crown the pen are all different. Hence, the big different in their price too.

The Buddha Limited Edition 2007 was crowned with a cabochon 1.5 carat emerald of 8.5mm in diameter. A less precious stone is used for the new Buddha Limited Edition 2013. It is topped with a orange citrine. The color orange was choosen to match the pen barrel to make it look complete.

The new Caran d'Arche Buddha Limited Edition 2013 is pen barrel and cap are crafted finished with brilliant saffron lacquer, but the trimming are made with solid 800 sterling silver.

Also, similiar to the Caran d'Arche Buddha Limited Edition 2007, the Buddha faces are made . . . hmmm... sculpted using solid 800 sterling silver too.

Each Caran d'Arche Buddha Limited Edition 2013 is present in a boring rectangle wooden box, which is similar to their previous Artiste Collection.

PS: somehow the lighting causes the orange lacquer to look red in the first two pictures.
