Hong Kong Pen Shops

It's Decemeber school holiday again. A lot of our friends and their family start to have their holiday. Hong Kong is one of the top ten destination for local. We would like to share with our friends, and visitors the popular pen shops in Hong Kong that we visited in the past.

In Kowloon, our favor shop is Feng Yuan Co. They are walking distance from a our hotel, and accessible by MTR. They are located in the mall opposite Regal Kowloon. The nearest MTR is Tsimshatsui, and you should take Exit P.

好時中心 G21 店
Tel.: (852) 2366 1703
They carry the usual brands that we find in Singapore, like Cartier, Graf Von Faber Castel, Lamy, Mont Blanc, Namiki, Palikan, Pilot, Visconti, and Sailor. They only carry very small range of the each brands, but they can help to order the pen.

For Parker fan, they have some new old stock, but no new launched or vintage pens.

Both the boss and staffs are very friendly, and are willing to negotiate.

Feng Yuan Co used to have branch at Star House which is walking distance from Houston Center, but recieved feedback from KMPN that they closed their branch.

We tried to visit pen stores in popular area, Mong Kok, but we were not able to locate the shops. The nearest MTR is Mong Kok station.

Nice Pen Company might have closed their business as we located the Plaza, but not the shop.

Below is the address of the two shops.

After sharing the information with our reader, we received feedback from KMPN who is based in Hong Kong that both Nice Pen Company too is closed.

If you are able to locate the shops, please share pictures and details with us.

While on Hong Kong island, we visited Hop Cheong Pens & Lighters Co. Most users would know about this shop. It is located in the Central Business District. The shop operate from 11am - 7pm. They are closed on Sunday and Public Holiday.

合昌金筆火機公司
Hop Cheong Pens & Lighters Co.

G/F., 111 Des Voeux Road Central, Hong Kong.
Tel.: (852) 2544-2197, (852) 2543-3689

The gentleman in the picture is John. From the picture, you notice that the shop is very very small. The width  space is good enough for 1.5 person. The depth of the shop is about 3.5 person standing side by side. One more person in the shop, you feel like sabine in a can.

Please do not expect fancy display like those shops in Singapore or Pen Gallery in Malaysia. All the pens are displayed without their boxes. They are display in standing position, next to each other, and in 1 to 3 rows. It is very much like the seat in a theather.

The brands are wider as compare to Feng Yuan, but they don't seems to be up to date.

The price is negotiable. Both Andy and John are good negotiator.

Not to far from Hop Cheong and on the opposite side of the same road is another pen shop, Winner Pen Collection. As you can see from the picture below, the shop is not big but display are nicely done. Similar to those we have here.

They selling price for each pen are clearly displayed, and usually not negotiable. They don't speak English well, but mandrain is fine.

KMPN is the goodman who compile a list of pen shop for pen hunter. Please visit his blog for details.

Friends and readers, if you discover more pen shops and outlets, please share with us.

Many thanks in advance.

  1. Managed to find J Herbin inks and Twisbi fountain pens sold at the Kubrick bookstore at Yau Ma Tei branch Shop H2 Prosperous Garden 3 Public Square St. Yau Ma Tei. Prices are definitely cheaper than Singapore: J. Herbin 30 mL ink bottles each are 85 HKD, Twisbi Diamond Piston Filler is 440 HKD, Twisbi Vac 700 Vacuum Filler is 695 HKD.

  3. Another store I happened across at Yau Ma Tei: Chung Nam Book & Stationery at 503 Nathan Rd, Yau Ma Tei. They sell Parker, Montblanc, Aurora, Pilot, ST Dupont, Sailor, and a few other brands I don't recall offhand. Quite interesting because I saw a MB 149 and a Parker Sonnet "Fu" limited edition being sold there.

  4. It is indeed interesting. Didn't know Yau Ma Tei has such a good shop. I used to walk along Nathan road, and nobody are aware of any places to buy pen. Thanks again.
